Bobcaygeon, ON. On July 23rd, Buckeye Marine joined forces with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes Foundation to host a Sandbar BBQ on Balsam Lake. The purpose of the event was to help raise money and awareness for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes Foundation all while giving cottagers and local boaters a chance to get out on the water, play games, win prizes all while helping out a great cause.
We are so pleased to have had such wonderful success in raising money and heightening the understanding of what the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Kawartha Lakes does, the important role that they play in our community and most importantly what they do for kids. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes Foundation is such a great asset to our community helping to keep kids active and giving them lots of great options of things to keep busy and having fun. states Carly Poole, marketing co-ordinator for Buckeye about the event.
We know that there are a number of kids that really need the services that the Clubs provide but cant afford it. This event went to raise funds for those kids. says Ms. Poole. We cant thank the staff and board of the BGCKL enough for their help on Saturday. They are a great group to work with and we look forward to working with them again in the future.
The Buckeye Bash Sandbar BBQ took place at the Sandbar on Balsam Lake on Saturday, July 23rd. Boaters were asked to bring a donation with them in support of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes Foundation in return for a hotdog, hamburger and a drink on a hot sunny summer day.
